Tran Quyet Chien ranks second in world billiards rankings.

This rise can be attributed to his outstanding performances in recent international tournaments.

Earlier, the leading Vietnamese billiards player successfully became the champion of the Three-Cushion World Cup 2024, which took place on March 4 in Bogota in Colombia. This marks the third time that the local player has secured the Three-Cushion World Cup, having previously won two world titles back in 2018 and 2023.

Furthermore, Quyet Chien and Bao Phuong Vinh also secured the first victory for Vietnam at the World Championship Three-Cushion National Teams after defeating their Spanish rivals in the final in Germany on March 25.

According to UMB, the world No.1 place went to Cho Myung Woo of the Republic of Korea, who had a total of 381 points.

Chien is just 10 points behind the Korean cueist, meaning that if the Vietnamese billiards star records good results in the upcoming international matches, he will be able to narrow the gap and become the world No.1.

Moving forward, Chien will compete in the three-cushion carom category at the 2024 Three-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup in Ho Chi Minh City, which is scheduled to run from May 20 to May 26.

After that, he will continue to take part in the 2024 World Three-Cushion Championship which will take place at Sea Links City Resort in Phan Thiet city of Binh Thuan province.

Moreover, the Vietnamese cueist will also have the chance to win international titles at the five upcoming World Cup tournaments this year, which are scheduled to take place in Turkey, Portugal, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, and Egypt.
