PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc

 

 

Under the theme “Developing strong enterprises – Integration, effectiveness, sustainability,” the upcoming conference will draw the participation of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Deputy PMs, ministerial, sectoral, and local leaders, representatives of international organizations, associations, experts, and the business community.  

As scheduled, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will present a report on “Enterprise development – Driving force for fast and sustainable growth.”

Enterprises will discuss their goals and plans on business renovation modals towards creativity and sustainability; voice difficulties; submit recommendations to the Government. Ministries, sectors, and localities will comment on the suggestions to ensure safe business and investment in Viet Nam. 

Over the past years, the Party and Government have promoted entrepreneurial spirit. Three resolutions on three economic fields were introduced including Resolution 12-NQ/TW, dated June 3, 2017 of the fifth plenary meeting of the 12th Communist Party Central Committee on restructuring, renovating and improving the efficiency of State-owned enterprises (SOEs); Resolution 10/NQ-TW, dated June 3, 2017 of the 5th Plenum of the Party Central Committee (Tenure XII) on developing the private economy sector into an important driver of the economy; the Politburo’s Resolution 50/NQ-TW, dated August 20, 2019 on orientations to perfect mechanisms, policies, raise the quality and efficiency of foreign investment by 2030. 

The National Assembly has adopted a series of drastic measures on business and investment environment improvement.

The Government has also introduced numerous resolutions to perfect the business and investment environment and support the business circle. 

Hence, the start up spirit has been promoted. The number of newly-established enterprises has increased constantly over the past five years. In the 2016-2019, 126,000 enterprises were yearly founded. In 2019, Viet Nam is expected to witness 136,000 new firms, raising the number of operating businesses to about 760,000 enterprises./.VGP
