Professor Pham Van Hung has been appointed vice rector of the International University.

The director of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City has issued a decision on personnel at the International University. Accordingly, Professor Pham Van Hung, head of the university’s Office of Science Management, has been appointed vice rector.

Born in 1974, Pham Van Hung is a professor of biology, specializing in food biology. He received his doctoral degree in 2005 from Osaka Prefecture University in Japan and was conferred the title of professor in 2022 at the International University.

Prior to his appointment, he served as head of the Office of Science Management at the university.

In research, Professor Hung has made notable contributions in biotechnology, nutrition and functional foods. He is the author of more than 90 internationally recognized scientific publications indexed in ISI journals and was awarded the Ta Quang Buu Prize in 2018.

As of 2025, he has an H-index of 38, with a total of 5,435 citations.

Notably, he has been ranked for many consecutive years among the world’s top 100,000 most influential scientists, reflecting the impact and reach of his academic contributions on the global stage.
