Recently, the official website of Academia Europaea introduced Prof. Dr. Sc. Hoang Xuan Phu as one of its newly elected members.
Professor Phu is currently affiliated with the Institute of Mathematics under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
In addition to Academia Europaea, Professor Hoang Xuan Phu has already been elected to five other prestigious scientific academies, including:
Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften) - elected in 2004.
Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften) - elected in 2010.
The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries (TWAS) - elected in 2013.
German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech - Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften) - elected in 2019.
European Academy of Sciences - elected in 2025.

Academia Europaea recently introduced Professor Hoang Xuan Phu as one of its newly elected members.
Professor Hoang Xuan Phu’s main research areas include optimization, optimal control, numerical analysis and scientific computing.
Throughout his academic career, he has held numerous important scientific and leadership roles, including serving as Asia’s representative on the Developing Countries Committee of the International Mathematical Union from 2011 to 2014.
He has also been a member of the editorial boards of six prestigious international mathematics journals.
From 2011 to 2022, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Journal of Mathematics and currently holds the title of Honorary Editor-in-Chief.
Professor Phu chaired a series of seven international conferences on high-performance computing in 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018.
He has also organized 23 annual scientific workshops on optimization and scientific computing since 2003.
