The international press event for the musical blockbuster Wicked 2 (Wicked: For Good) was recently held at Universal Studios Singapore. Vietnamese singer Orange  -  affectionately known as “Em xinh”  -  and fellow artist The Thien were among the select group of Vietnamese KOLs invited to attend the early screening and meet the film’s cast, which includes Michelle Yeoh, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Jeff Goldblum.

During the event, the Vietnamese delegation had the opportunity to personally interact with both Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. In a heartwarming moment, Orange and The Thien taught the two Hollywood stars how to say the Vietnamese phrase “Em chao sep” (“Hello, boss”) while filming the viral TikTok trend. After Ariana Grande autographed Orange’s arm, the Vietnamese singer couldn’t contain her excitement.

That same day, Orange also took part in a meaningful handprint ceremony alongside international guests and the Wicked 2 cast.

The storyline of Wicked 2 continues directly from where the first part left off, exploring the untold chapter of Oz’s witches as Elphaba and Glinda part ways on diverging paths.

Elphaba, played by two-time Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo, has now been vilified as the Wicked Witch of the West and is forced to live in exile in Oz’s dark forests. Glinda, portrayed by Ariana Grande, has ascended to become a radiant symbol of goodness, adored by the people and basking in the limelight of the Emerald City. Yet Glinda remains tormented by the painful separation from Elphaba. The arrival of Dorothy Gale, a mortal girl swept in by a tornado, turns the fate of all three  -  Elphaba, Glinda, and the entire land of Oz  -  upside down.

Director Jon M. Chu returns for the second installment, with original Broadway writer Winnie Holzman and screenwriter Dana Fox continuing their collaboration to ensure narrative continuity. The film features a star-studded cast: Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Ariana Grande as Glinda, Jonathan Bailey  -  recently named PEOPLE’s “Sexiest Man Alive” and known for Jurassic World: Rebirth  -  as Fiyero, and Jurassic Park legend Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz. Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh joins the cast as Madame Morrible.

The first Wicked film grossed $473.2 million in North America and approximately $282.3 million internationally, totaling over $750 million worldwide. This made it the highest-grossing film adaptation of a stage musical in history. Critically, the film was recognized with 10 Academy Award nominations, winning Best Production Design and Best Costume Design.

Wicked: For Good is scheduled for theatrical release on November 21, 2025.
