The Japanese author unexpectedly wrote about this on her Facebook page.

She wrote: “Recently many people have contacted me saying that this song from a Vietnamese singer called Vu Cat Tuong is very similar to my Rain in the Park. There are news articles in Vietnam and a Youtube video that compare the two songs. My song was originally released on Soundcloud in 2013 while hers was released in 2014... What do you think about this? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this."

Over 4.4 thousand people liked the note and hundreds made comments. Most of the comments by Vietnamese netizens said that Vu Cat Tuong copied "Rain in the Park" by Marika Takeuchi and advised the Japanese songwriter to handle the case by law.

Previously, Vu Cat Tuong told a Vietnamese news site that the piano version by Marika Takeuchi was released on June 26th 2013 while Tuong sent her demo to musician Trong Nguyen on June 18th 2013. She said she still keep emails as evidence.

“I’m ready to provide the analysis of rhythm, harmony and melody of the two works for the readers to study deeply,” Tuong said.

She said she was willing to take responsibility for her work.

The young female singer-songwriter is currently facing several scandals, including the leaking of her “sensitive chat” with a fashion designer, in which they spoke ill about other singers.
