The Vietnamese won in the women’s 400m individual medley (IM) with a time of 4:44.68.
Connie Dean of England came second clocking 4:46.63, while Ilektra Lebl from Greece was third with 4:49.68.
Vien will further compete in the 200m IM, 100m backstroke and 200m butterfly events.
Vien is Vietnam’s hope of a medal in the upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia. She expects to win a gold and is sharpening her skills by practising in the United States.
In the last Asian Games, Vien brought home two bronze medals in 200m backstroke and 400m IM.
Pro Swim Series is an American swimming competition. The winner in each category will receive five points for his/her world ranking and a bonus of 1,000 USD.- VNA
