Vietnamese students finish first in Drum Off Global 2019’s Rhythm duo

A pair of Vietnamese students beat off competition from a number of other entrants in the Rhythm duo category as part of Drum Off Global 2019 which recently came to a close in Singapore.

Both Pham Duy Anh and Nguyen Duc Minh Duong are currently studying at the Vietnam University of Military Arts and Culture, radio The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) reported.

Pham Duy Anh is from a musical background as he is the son of singer Le Phuong Hien and musician Quoc Long. The young man has a passion for music and began to learn to play the drums as a child.

Nguyen Duc Minh Duong was greatly influenced by his father who is a professional drummer.

The coordination between the two young drummers made for an excellent performance, leaving a positive impression on the competition’s judges.

Drum Off Global 2019 is an annual international contest which sees participants from a range of ages from all over the world compete against one another.

The judging panel was made up of a number of famous drummers including Eloy Casagrande of Brazil, Lim Yoonghun of the Republic of Korea, Jared Faced of Canada, in addition to Thomas Pridgen and Sdjmalik, both of the United States. - VNA
