The ceremony to mark national reunification by Vietnamese veterans in Russia.

The function was attended by Russian military experts from the 1965-1974 period in addition to Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and military officers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh wished Vietnamese veterans and Russian military experts good health and success while affirming the active role of the AVVR in promoting friendship between the two countries’ veterans.
For his part, Nikolai Kolesnik, Chairman of the Association of Russian Veterans that served in Vietnam, congratulated the Vietnamese people and army on the historic April 30 victory.
He also expressed his pride in being one of the Soviet Union’s military experts helping Vietnam in the struggle for national defence and reunification.
On the occasion, Nikolai Kolesnik awarded a medal of the Russian Veterans Association to Ngo Quoc Thai, former political commissar of the 250th Rocket Regiment of the Hanoi Air Defence Division.
As part of the ceremony, an art programme was held with songs praising Uncle Ho’s soldiers performed by the veterans, creating a joyful atmosphere on the anniversary of national reunification.
