Wrestlers pocketed one gold and one bronze medal after the third day of competition yesterday at the sixth Children of Asia International Sports Games in Russia’s Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
Huynh Man Dat finished first in the boys’ 200m butterfly event with a time of 2min 4.20sec.
So far, Vietnam’s 55 competitors have earned three golds and one bronze at the games, competing in six out of 22 events against athletes from 38 teams.
Luc Le Giang triumphed in the girls’ 34kg wrestling category and Nguyen Thi Phuong was third in the girls’ 40kg class yesterday.
Earlier, swimmers bagged two gold medals.
Huynh Man Dat won in the boys’ 200m butterfly event with a time of 2min 4.20sec.
Nguyen Huy Hoang triumphed in the boys’ 1,500m freestyle, clocking 15:55.02.
Two other Vietnamese also took part in the swimming competition but could not make the top three.
Nguyen Le Phuong Thao ranked fifth in the girls’ 200m backstroke and Do Thanh Thuan was 10th in the boys’ 1,500m freestyle.
The Games wrap up on July 18.
