Advances in Natural Sciences Magazine: Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ANSN) has become the first Vietnamese journal to be selected in Thomson Reuters' ISI list which includes high quality scientific journals.

Leaders of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology congratulate the Editorial Board of ANSN. 


ANSN is a collaboration between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and IOP Publishing (the United Kingdom).

The journal has recently been listed in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database of Thomson Reuters based on the impact factor (IF) of ANSN assessed by Thomson Reuters within 12 months of 2015.

In the classification table of SCImago, journals are divided into 4 types: Q1 consists of journals with the highest IF values (belonging to the top 25%); Q2 includes journals with high values of IF (from top 25% to top 50%); Q3 is comprised of journals having moderate IF values (from top 50% to top 75%); and Q4 is the type of journals with the lowest values of IF (bottom 25%).

ANSN was classified as a journal on Engineering and Materials Science by SCImago. According to the IF of ANSN in 2014, Scopus ranked the ANSN as follows: Q1 in terms of Engineering and Q2 Materials Science.

The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) was founded by Eugene Garfield in 1960.

It was acquired by Thomson Scientific & Healthcare in 1992, and became known as Thomson ISI.

It is now a part of the Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters.

ISI offers bibliographical database services. It maintains citation databases covering thousands of academic journals, including a continuation of its long time print-based indexing service the Science Citation Index (SCI), as well as the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), and the Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI).
