HCM City will allocate more than 67 billion VND (approximately 2.54 million USD) during the 2026–2030 period to support the transition of capture fisheries livelihoods and ensure social security for fishermen.
The first Vietnam International Exhibition on Aquatic Science and Technology (VINAFIS EXPO 2026) will take place from April 28-30 in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “Vietnam Fisheries Rising.”
Due to a sharp fall in demands in many major markets, domestic fisheries firms are forecast to face many difficulties this year, and this requires them to seek measures to complete the target set in export revenue for 2023, according to insiders.
The EC acknowledges Vietnam's efforts to limit IUU fishing, and over the next six months will continue evaluating IUU guidelines in the country.
