Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the number of permanent staff for 2016 in State authorities and organizations, the Office of the Government announced on November 23.

State employee numbers for 2016 to fall by 4,139 compared to 2015. 

 


The total number of permanent staff with a salary paid from the State budget in 2016 (excluding staff in the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, State administrative units, and people working at the commune level) is 272,916.

The number at companies and organizations established by the government, ministries, or agencies at the same level as ministries is 110,559.

The number in agencies under People’s Councils and People’s Committees at the district level is 160,272.  

Vietnam’s representative agencies in foreign countries will have 1,085 staff, with 1,000 positions for officers replacing retirees.

Compared with 2015 the total number of permanent staff at the ministerial and local level will fall by 4,139, while the number of staff in representative offices overseas and positions for officers replacing retirees remain the same.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is responsible for allocating positions for permanent staff at ministerial agencies and agencies at the same level as ministries, governmental agencies, and agencies at the central level.

Positions for permanent staff in governmental associations and organizations will be allocated to each association and organization.
