VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnamese contestant Nam Em won the silver medal for the talent competition of the Miss Earth 2016 beauty contest for the song "You Raise Me Up".
The gold medalist is the representative of the Cook Island
In the talent show, contestants were divided into groups and Nam Em was a member of group 1. Performing the song “You Raise Me Up”, she won the silver medal.
The gold medal went to the representative of the Cook Island while the contestant of Macau won the bronze medal.
Writing on her Facebook, Nam Em said she had not planned to participate in the competition because she had lost her voice.
She wrote that she chose the song “You Raise Me Up” because she loved the lyrics, which encourage anyone who faces challenges and difficulties. Nam Em has studied vocal techniques.
Nam Em will compete in the competitions of evening gown, swimsuit, and traditional costumes.
She will perform an ao ba ba (traditional blouse of women in southern Vietnam) designed by Nguyen Minh Cong at the traditional costume contest.
Miss Earth 2016 final will take place on October 29 in the Philippines, with the participation of 90 contestants around the world.
