Vietnam’s no. 1 tennis player, Ly Hoang Nam, leapt 29 notches to 433rd position in the latest men’s world rankings as announced by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on May 14.

It is a career-best ATP rating for Nam, and also the highest world ranking ever reached by a Vietnamese player.
By qualifying for the final match of the recent Vietnam F1 Futures tournament, 21-year-old Nam added ten points to his ATP accumulation.
Concerning the doubles standings, the Vietnamese star also climbed 49 places to be crowned the world no. 603 with 79 points.
Young talent Nguyen Van Phuong, who paired with Ly Hoang Nam to win the doubles crown at the recent Vietnam F2 Futures, moved up 153 places to 1,430th in the world.
Meanwhile, other Vietnamese players, including Trinh Linh Giang and Pham Minh Tuan, dropped 21 and 49 notches to 1,525th and 1,889th, respectively.
