Vietnam’s top tennis player Ly Hoang Nam came from behind to beat number two seed, Jankovits Yannick of France, with a score of 2-1 in the Thailand F3 Futures final on June 24, thereby claiming the men’s singles title in a convincing manner.

Nam entered into the decisive match with relative ease as he only encountered opponents of lower rank or injured players (in the semifinal).

The last challenge for Nam was 30-year-old Yannick, who previously ranked in the world’s top 300 players and on several occasions was crowned champion of the Men’s Futures tournaments.

The French player took advantage of his experience to win the first set 6-2. However, he could not prevent Nam, with youthful stamina and strong desire for victory, from claiming 7-5 in the second set’s tie-break and 6-4 in the third set for the overall title.

It was the second crown for Nam at a Men’s Futures competition, following the Vietnam F5 Futures 2016, which will help him successfully realise the goal of breaking into the world’s top 500 players for the first time in the next ATP men’s rankings.
