Viet Nam’s total export and import value in the fortnight of March reached US$16.6 billion, of which export revenue made up $7.81 billion, the General Department of Customs reported.
Exports of mobile phones and components, computers, electronic products and components gained in value by more than $1 billion each.
Phones and components took the lead with export revenue of more than $1.3 billion, up 9.2 per cent against the second half of February.
It helped increase the products’ export value to date this year to nearly $5.99 billion.
During the first half of March, the country spent more than $8.79 billion on imports, the department reported.
According to the General Statistics Office, the country’s total import-export turnover in the first two months of 2017 reached $27.2 billion, of which export turnover was $13 billion, increasing 15.4 per cent from the same period last year, while import turnover was $14.2 billion, registering a year-on-year rise of 19.6 per cent.
