Tran Tuan Minh lost to Alekseenko Kirill of Russia in the sixth round of the ongoing World Junior (U-20) Chess Championship in India.

With this loss, Minh, who has Elo rating of 2473, ranked 24th out of 80 rivals with 3.5 points.

He will meet Harsha Bhrathakoti of India (Elo 2344) in the next round.

Meanwhile, Minh’s younger brother, Tran Minh Thang ranked 50th with three points. Thang, who defeated India’s Yogit S in the sixth match, will then face Chakravarthi Reddy M of India.

Thang won the world U8 category in 2008.
