Viettel FC earn V.League promotion with one game in hand.

The victory helped Viettel to achieve 38 points after 17 rounds, up to seven points more than second-placed Hanoi B, a gap that could not be cancelled out regardless of the results of the last-round matches on October 5.

In addition to winning the championship title ahead of schedule, manager Vu Hai Bien’s side are possessing the most powerful attacking lineup of the tournament with a tally of 35 goals and also the best defensive line with only 14 goals conceded.

The problem for Viettel now is to seek quality foreign players in preparation for next year’s V.League season.

In another Round 17 match, Dong Thap FC could not take advantage of Hanoi B’s 2-2 tie with Long An to break through in the race to the promotion playoff, as they were held to a goalless draw by Binh Dinh TMS.

With a deficit of three points and a goal difference of +9 against Dong Thap, Hanoi B are now quite sure to book a place in the promotion playoff against the 2018 V.League’s second-from-bottom team at the end of the season.
