On the afternoon of September 12, the YouTube channel Minh Giang – Truc Dien TV held a livestream discussing Vingroup’s legal action filed in the United States. According to the lawsuit shared on the channel, the defendant resides in Los Angeles.
Hien Nguyen is being accused of defamation and engaging in unfair competition. The lawsuit alleges that she used her personal Facebook account to spread false information, including claims that nearly 5,000 Vingroup employees had resigned simultaneously over concerns about the safety of the company’s electric vehicles.
Vingroup asserts that such posts have harmed the company’s reputation and were also used to attract social media attention, serving her personal business selling bird’s nest products.
In its petition, Vingroup requests that the court issue an injunction to prevent Hien Nguyen from continuing this conduct and seeks damages for the harm caused.
The Minh Giang YouTube channel also emphasized that this is Vingroup’s first legal action in the United States - potentially setting a precedent for similar lawsuits against individuals who spread false information on social media.
In response to the lawsuit being filed with the California Superior Court, Hien Nguyen has since deleted all posts related to Vingroup from her account.
Vingroup has confirmed that the lawsuit against Hien Nguyen was officially filed on September 10, 2025.
