The team lost 0-5 to South Korean rivals in a match at Jiangsu Training Base Stadium.
Kim Soeun scored a hattrick while Mun Eun-ju and Kim Eun-soul netted one goal each for the Korean side to maintain their ability to compete in the sem-finals.
A final Group B match against Japan on Sunday will decide the Koreans’ ultimate fate.
This means they can also keep alive their hopes for a fifth successive FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup appearance.
Viet Nam, on the other hand, remains at the bottom of the rankings. They will next face Australia who played Japan yesterday.
