During a regular press briefing on the afternoon of December 11, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Pham Thu Hang provided updates on citizen protection efforts in response to the situation.

She stated that on December 9, Vietnamese embassies in Cambodia and Thailand issued safety warnings to Vietnamese nationals. Citizens were advised to stay away from areas with heightened security risks and to prepare to leave the affected zones to ensure their safety and protect their belongings.

As border tensions escalate between Thailand and Cambodia, Vietnam has issued a public advisory urging its citizens to avoid areas with complex security developments and to proactively evacuate if necessary.

Vietnamese nationals are also urged to strictly comply with local government directives and maintain close contact with Vietnamese diplomatic missions in both countries.

Hang confirmed that most Vietnamese citizens in high-risk areas have already been evacuated to safer locations under the guidance of local authorities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also coordinated with relevant agencies to monitor the situation, direct overseas missions to stay closely connected with host country authorities and Vietnamese communities, and be ready to implement necessary citizen protection plans.
