The National Table Tennis Championships is scheduled to kick off on June 10-18, the event’s organising board announced in a briefing on Wednesday.

The individual winner will get an award of some VNĐ30 million (US$1,300) and the winning team will receive some VNĐ40 million.

The event is an opportunity for professional athletes to hone their skills in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games in August.

Last year, the event attracted Viet Nam’s leading players, such as Dinh Quang Linh, Nguyen Anh Tu and Tran Tuan Quynh. Hanoian Tu won the title.
