Vietnamese Nguyen Van Phuong championed the PTT-ITF Junior Grade 4 tennis tournament in Thailand yesterday.

No 8 seed Phuong came from behind to beat Yuttana Charoenphone of the hosts 1-6, 2-6, 7-5 in the boys’ singles event.

It is the first Grade 4 title for the 16-year-old player after he won two Grade 5 events earlier this year.

He will enter top 300 world junior list which will be announced today. — VNS
