An international drug trafficking ring has been busted by police in Thai Binh province.
Vietnamese men are caught red-handed transporting synthetic drugs According to initial reports, local police forces caught three Vietnamese men red-handed transporting synthetic drugs over the border from Laos in a car numbered 15A - 328.06 in Khang Ninh village, Quynh Trang commune, Quynh Phu district. The arrests took place at 3:30 on March 5.
The three men were identified as Bui Quang Ngoc, 38, Nguyen Van Thanh, 62, and Nguyen Hong Linh, 63, all of whom are currently residing in Hai Phong.
Upon examining the car, police were able to seize a handbag and a suitcase containing 102 packs of synthetic drugs, with each pack containing over 60 grams, and VND10 million in cash.
When questioned at the police station, all three suspects admitted to transporting drugs into Vietnam from Laos to sell.
The police also noted that both Nguyen Van Thanh and Nguyen Hong Linh are drug addicts who have previous criminal convictions.
The case is being investigated further.
