Spiker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (right) of Viet Nam will play for the Attack Line Club in the Chinese Taipei volleyball tournament next month.

Thuy, 20, is currently the club’s and the nation’s top volleyball player, and has received offers from various clubs in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Thuy, 1.93m, previously played for and won a title with Thai Bangkok Glass in the 2015-16 season, before returning to Binh Dien Long An.

Thailand’s first runner-up Bangkok Glass also wanted to sign Thuy, but they were too late as Attack Line successfully signed her.

“The managers of Attack Line came to talk with us and we reached our deal. We will go and visit her new club in the next few days before signing the contract,” said Thai Buu Lam, Director of the Binh Dien Long An Sports Company.

Thuy will receive a monthly salary of around US$4,000.

Her move to Chinese Taipei next month will mean that Binh Dien Long An will be without Thuy for the Viet Nam Super Cup for the top four teams in mid-October.

But according to their agreement, she will return in late November to take part in the second round of the national championship, during Chinese Taipei’s tournament break.

Together with Thuy, Attack Line also signed the top attacker in the Philippines, Alyssa Valdez.
