VietNamNet Bridge - General school students all have vocational training, but the knowledge learned is rarely used in reality.
The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), in a report to the government, has described 15 solutions to settle the high unemployment rate of university graduates. However, the solutions have been described as “vague” and “unclear”.
Vocational schools still don’t know which management agency they will belong to – the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) or the Ministry of Education and Training (MOIT).
Reforming training curricula with a focus on applied sciences and producing graduates who can satisfy employers’ requirements are two solutions that universities plan to apply to current tertiary-level programs.
A lot of bachelors and masters stay unemployed in the labor market where businesses now need blue collar workers more than bachelors or masters.
Vocational schools now cannot attract learners because of the unreasonable curriculums which make graduates unemployed. However, the problem would be settled in the near future.
Students would be fined VND5-20 million for their behaviors of insulting teachers’ dignity, while teachers would be fined VND3-5 million for the behaviors of abusing learners.
A school has been offered for sale since the investors cannot enroll students, cannot afford the high land leasing fee and the high bank loan interest rates.
