According to details given by Korean news agency Yonhap on September 10, the Korean man is suspected of robbing a branch of the bank in Daejeon in August, during which he threatened employees with a pre-prepared weapon.
After stealing a total of KRW39 million in cash, equal to US$29,115, Yonhap noted that the Korean suspect escaped on a stolen motorcycle and then departed for Vietnam roughly two days after the alleged crime.
The Korean news agency shared that police forces in Da Nang police were able to find the man at a local casino based on a tip-off given by a Korean residing there, ultimately putting him under emergency detention at around 4:55 p.m. (local time).
“Police have been in close cooperation with Interpol and Vietnamese authorities over the course of apprehending him,” the Korean news agency added.
