March 22 is the United Nations World Water Day. The Vietnamese government is focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating the sustainable management of freshwater resources. Some photos feature Vietnamese people and fresh water:

Pai Lung Lake in the remote mountainous Meo Vac District in Ha Giang Province. The reservoir was built to keep fresh water for local people during the dry season. There are nearly 20 such reservoirs in the district with total capacity of 111,018 cubic metres which supply water for over 21,750 local people.
