In his opening speech, Nhan Dan Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh noted that the webpage http://nguyenphutrong.nhandan.vn was designed by Nhan Dan reporters and technicians within a month to honour the late Party chief, an exceptionally outstanding leader, as well as a teacher of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists.

The webpage, that applies modern journalism technologies on digital platforms, features more than 1,000 articles, photos, video clips, and other multimedia journalism products that highlight the late Party leader’s theoretical and practical contributions to outlining guidelines and policies for building and developing the country during the Doi Moi (Renewal) process.

The webpage serves as an important database for research of officials, Party members and people in general, affirmed Minh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party’s Secretariat Luong Cuong noted that articles written by Party and State leaders, analytical assessments by scholars and researchers at home and abroad, and public opinions on the webpage would help Party members and people of Vietnam as well as international friends better understand the life, career, and great contributions of the late Party leader to the Vietnamese revolution.

He requested that the Party’s Information and Education Commission popularize the webpage to arouse the trust and pride of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the heroic Vietnamese nation among officials, Party members and people.

The same day, Nhan Dan newspaper also opened a photo exhibition featuring the life and revolutionary career of the late Party leader.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong passed away in Hanoi on July 19 at the age of 80.
