Over the past few days, the chilly weather has been enveloping HCMC with the temperature falling to 20 degrees Celsius or below early in the morning and late at night, giving city inhabitants a feel of fresh air in the run up to Christmas and New Year celebrations.

While many young people show their excitement to welcome the coolest days of the year, others who are more used to an average temperature of 28 degrees are looking for different ways to keep warm in cold weather.

Taking a stroll around the city in the early morning from 5 a.m. to 7.30 a.m., one can see many parents wrapping their kids with overcoats, shawls and jackets in the cold weather while the elderly people who do some morning exercise have to cover up their body more than usual with coats and scarfs.

Weather forecasters say that the temperature will remain below 20 degrees Celsius for the coming days in the entire southeastern region.
