September is traditionally when Apple unveils its most important hardware products of the year. This year’s event is drawing even greater attention, with multiple reports suggesting the company will enter the foldable smartphone market for the first time.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Sept. 9, or midnight Sept. 10 in Vietnam.

Apple will livestream the event on its official YouTube channel, Apple.com, the Apple TV app and Apple Developer.

Apple is expected to introduce its first foldable iPhone, possibly called the iPhone Ultra, although the name has yet to be officially confirmed.

According to leaks, the device will feature a book-style folding design, with a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer screen. Its overall dimensions are expected to be relatively compact compared with many foldable smartphones currently on the market.

The foldable iPhone could use the A20 Pro chip, manufactured using Apple’s first 2nm process, paired with 12GB of RAM.

The rear camera system is expected to feature two 48-megapixel sensors - a main camera and an ultra-wide camera - with no telephoto lens.

Instead of Face ID, the device is rumored to use Touch ID integrated into its side button. Battery capacity is expected to range from 4,800 to 5,000mAh.

The iPhone Ultra could become available for pre-order from Sept. 12, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. Its starting price is expected to fall between $1,999 and $2,299.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are also expected to make their debut.

In terms of design, the two models are expected to retain the overall look of the iPhone 17 Pro, with a similar camera arrangement and proportions. However, Dynamic Island could be reduced to nearly half its current size.

Apple could also introduce three new colors - deep cherry red, sky blue and black - while potentially dropping the silver option.

Prices could rise by $100-200 from the previous generation. Current estimates put the iPhone 18 Pro at around $1,199-1,299, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could cost between $1,299 and $1,399.

Beyond the three new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5.
