A whirlwind triggered by heavy rains on the evening of September 11 blew away the roofs of 130 houses and uprooted many trees in the district of Huong Khe, central Ha Tinh Province.

Le Quang Vinh, head of Huong Khe Department of Agriculture, said the huge whirlwind last for only 15 minutes, it damaged many houses and fruit trees in Huong Xuan and Phu Phong communes.

He added that the district has sent its staff members to the stricken villages to help the victims clean up and repair houses to stabilize their lives.
