The pink blossoms of wild peach trees have flooded Hanoi streets at prices ranging from hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese dongs to millions of dongs, attracting a large number of customers.
There is heavy trade in the flowering trees at Lac Long Quan Street, Quang Ba flower market in Tay Ho district, and Van Phuc flower market in Ha Dong district, Hanoi. This year, buyers show a keen interest in branches of wild peach brought in from the north-western mountain region. Branches of wild peach are offered for sale on the streets, with different shapes at prices between VND15 million and VND20 million for the larger arms and hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese dongs for smaller branches. White apricot blossoms are priced between VND500,000 and VND3 million for each pot. Bonsai kumquat are sought after by many buyers and go for prices ranging from VND1 million to VND20 million. Vases of yellow apricot from the southern region are meticulously cared for by sellers. Each yellow apricot pot can fetch between VND5 million and VND20 million. Delicate orchids are also favoured by many customers. This year, the price of Rhododendron simsiiis hovering between VND80,000-VND200,000. |
