Wong Siu Lung of Hong Kong took the gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event at the Southeast Asian Shooting Association Championship (SEASA) 2016 in Hanoi yesterday.

Lung earned a total of 197.7 points to take lead. Chew Eddy Chew of Malaysia won silver medal with his total of 197.3. The bronze medal went to Lim Swee Hon of Singapore with a score of 177.0.

Vietnamese marksman Tran Quoc Cuong ranked fourth in this category with 155.6 points.

In the men’s 10m air rifle, Lu Shao Chuan of Chinese Taipei won gold medal with 205.9 points. The runners-up were Nguyen Duy Hoang of Vietnam with 205.4 points and Ponglaokham Apichakli of Thailand with 163.9 points.

The event has seen the participation of 300 athletes and coaches from nine countries and territories, including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea. They are competing in 18 events for men and 18 events for women. 

The tournament will provide opportunities for regional shooters to sharpen their skills before competing at the coming Southeast Asian Games.
