The HCMC government has decided to set up an intersectoral working team with 22 members to complete urban railway projects in the city, the local media reported.

The office of the municipal government on March 26 said that the team, led by HCMC vice chairman Tran Vinh Tuyen, was established by merging with the Steering Committee of the city’s first and second metro line projects.
The team will be in charge of directing the relevant units to handle issues hindering the construction of the city’s urban railway projects and helping the municipal government govern activities in various fields.
Besides this, the working team has been tasked with researching projects to complete procedures for negotiating and signing loan agreements to speed up the progress of projects and help the HCMC government find optimal technical solutions for constructing railways and make decisions on the structure and design of projects.
The head of the intersectoral working team will use the municipal government’s seal to execute guidance and management tasks.
In addition, the office announced that the government had decided to establish a steering committee for compensation, support and resettlement by merging the municipal Appraisal Council and the Steering Committee of Resettlement. The new committee, comprising 20 members, is led by the HCMC vice chairman.
