Upon hearing the news of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing, leaders from various countries and international organizations sent letters, messages, and condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the people of Vietnam, and the family of the General Secretary.

The letter from the King of Cambodia reads: "I wish to express my deepest sorrow over the passing of Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong, an outstanding leader of the country and people of Vietnam, who made significant contributions to the construction and development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. My revered mother, the Queen Mother, the leadership at all levels, and the entire people of the Kingdom of Cambodia extend our deepest condolences to the family of the General Secretary and the brotherly people of Vietnam."

On behalf of the government and people of Thailand, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed deep condolences to the government, people of Vietnam, and the family of the General Secretary for this great loss.

The Thai Prime Minister expressed admiration for the significant and exemplary contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in the building and development of the country, as well as in strengthening relations between Vietnam and Thailand, especially the declaration to elevate bilateral relations to a strategic partnership during his historic visit to Thailand in 2013.

In their condolence messages, Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on behalf of the government and people of India, expressed their heartfelt condolences over Vietnam's great loss.

Indian leaders expressed respect for the life and career of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. They affirmed their solidarity with the leaders and people of Vietnam, as well as the family of the General Secretary, during this sorrowful time.

General Secretary of the Workers' Party of the DPRK Kim Jong Un, emphasized that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong dedicated his life to the struggle for the development of the Party and the State of Vietnam and the happiness of the Vietnamese people. The General Secretary also made great efforts to enhance and develop the cooperative friendship between North Korea and Vietnam, in line with the spirit of the summit agreement in March 2019 in Hanoi.

Kim Jong Un stressed that the contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will forever be remembered in the revolutionary history of the Vietnamese people and the friendship between the two countries.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's condolence message read: "I am deeply saddened by the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the great leader of Vietnam, passing away.

On behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Korea, I extend my sincere condolences to the family and people of Vietnam for the loss of a revered leader. The achievements and aspirations of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for the brilliant development of Vietnam and to deepen the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea will remain in the hearts of the people of both countries."

US President Joe Biden sent heartfelt condolences to the people of Vietnam and the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong over this great loss.

President Biden's message included: "General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a pioneer in building the deep relationship between the people of Vietnam and the United States. Thanks to his leadership, our two countries have developed the friendship and partnership we enjoy today.

His historic visit to the White House in 2015 was a significant milestone in our bilateral relations. Thanks to his vision, during my state visit to Hanoi in 2023, Vietnam and the United States became Comprehensive Strategic Partners, the highest level of partnership in Vietnam's foreign policy.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio's message read: "I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. On behalf of the government and people of Japan, I extend my deepest condolences to the government, people of Vietnam, and the entire family of the General Secretary."

The exchanges with the General Secretary during meetings have become unforgettable memories for the Japanese Prime Minister. Kishida expressed his deepest gratitude for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's significant contributions to promoting Vietnam-Japan relations.

Japanese leaders also remembered Party Chief Nguyen Phu Trong's great leadership in building close cooperative relations between Japan and Vietnam across many fields, as Comprehensive Strategic Partners.

In their letters, Australian leaders including Governor-General Sam Mostyn, Senate President Sue Lines, and House Speaker Milton Dick expressed their deep condolences to the National Assembly, government, people of Vietnam, and the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Australian leaders highly appreciated the sincerity and affection that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong devoted to the Vietnam-Australia relationship, especially in elevating bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They emphasized the General Secretary's great contributions to building and developing a peaceful and prosperous Vietnam, which will always be remembered by the international community.

Australia will continue to value and cultivate "strategic trust" in bilateral relations, as wished by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UN General Assembly President Dennis Francis sent deep condolences to the state, people of Vietnam, and the family of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres shared the immense grief and loss of the Vietnamese people over the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He emphasized that as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam since 2011, Nguyen Phu Trong was a key leader in contemporary Vietnamese history.

Under his leadership, Vietnam continued on a strong development path, becoming one of the world's fastest-growing economies and an important partner of the United Nations.

UN General Assembly President Dennis Francis praised Nguyen Phu Trong as a dedicated leader who served his country for over a decade.

On the same day, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, and Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko sent letters and messages of condolences to Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.
