In Vietnam, some passengers were fined and banned from using aviation services for joking about bomb attacks or smoking on the plane.

According to the Northern Airport Authority, a few days ago, while making check-in procedures for a flight of VietJet Air from the Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi to Bangkok, passenger Dao Hong Long said he went to Bangkok to conduct a bomb attack.

Though the young man immediately explained that he had just joked, he was fined VND4 million by the airport authorities.

The passenger was accused of violating the Vietnamese government’s decree on administrative fines for violations in the field of civil aviation.

Specifically, Long committed the violation of "spreading rumors or providing false information about bombs, mines, explosives, radioactive, biological or chemical weapons that not yet affect the normal operation of civil aviation”.

Earlier, some passengers were fined and banned from using aviation services for joking about bomb attacks or smoking on the plane.
