For Hoang Le Giang, 28, a six-day adventure has come to an end. It was a 300-kilometre-long journey over tundra, snow-covered forests and frozen rivers with a set of dogs as their engine.

Giang is one of an ordinary group of 30 people from 13 countries (and the first Vietnamese) who embarked on the journey sponsored by Fjällräven Polar just a few short days ago.

He said he feels proud and amazed that he and the others were able to accomplish such an unforgettable journey. In many ways, he is sad to see it come to an end.

The weary traveller said he’ll miss the loud barking of the dogs that made it difficult at times to hear what others were saying.

But completing the journey has given him a sense of accomplishment – and sadness – now that it’s over.

The 300km route started at Signaldalen in Norway, across the Scandinavian mountain chain along the border of Norway and Sweden, heading towards Tavvavuoma, which is one of Europe’s largest areas of permafrost.

From there, the trail continued over lake Torneträsk from where they traversed over frozen water, on the Torne River. It ended on lake Väkkäräjärvi.
