Zambia wishes to expand the friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, said President Edgar Lungu at a reception for newly accredited Vietnamese Ambassador to the country Nguyen Manh Cuong in Lusaka on November 2.

Vietnam’s experience and success in economic development are valuable for Zambia in its economic reform to reduce dependence on natural resources exports, especially in the context of current fuel price crisis, he said.

Expressing his good sentiments towards the land and people of Vietnam, the President said he admires the country’s past struggle for national independence as well as its current economic development and international integration achievements.

For his part, Ambassador Cuong conveyed the Vietnamese leaders’ wish to enhance collaboration with Zambia.

He promised to do his utmost to continue fostering and expanding bilateral ties, for the benefits of both nations.-VNA
