Spanish retailer Zara has posted employee recruitment emails seeking many positions in Hanoi, prompting fashion lovers to speculate that the brand is going to open stores in the capital.
In September 2016, Zara made its entry into the Vietnamese market by opening its first store in HCM City.
The emails, sent by a Vietnamese human resources agency, states that in order to set up a store system in Hanoi this year, Zara Viet Nam is looking to hire store managers, shift supervisors, sales staffs and cashiers.
The application deadline is April 15, which suggests that the retailer’s first store in Hà Nội is expected to open in the second half of 2017.

At the end of 2016, Zing News reported that a representative of Inditex, Zara’s parent company, denied rumours that Zara would be opening two stores in Hanoi.
“Zara will be expanding in the Vietnamese market, but has no plans to open more stores in the near future,” Jesus Echeverria, Inditex’s media representative, had said.
The presence of Topshop and Zara in Viet Nam, and rumours of H&M and Uniqlo opening stores soon, are positive signs, indicating that big brands across the world are seriously considering this potential market of 90 million people.
