The ambitious project to construct a 1.5km long road connecting Dong Tru bridge through Thuong Thanh, Ngoc Thuy, Ngoc Lam, Bo De, Long Bien, and Thach Ban wards to the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway is finally taking shape after six years of construction.
The project, which began in 2018, aims to build a 1.5km long, 40m wide road connecting Nguyen Van Cu street to the end of the resettlement area of Ngoc Thuy ward in Long Bien district. With a total investment of over 1,220 billion VND, the project has shown significant progress after experiencing delays.
One of the standout features of the project is the 400m long overpass over Nguyen Van Cu street, which has been completed.
Initially expected to be finished by 2020, the project faced significant delays primarily due to difficulties in site clearance. The process involved clearing 485 households, individuals, and organizations, many of whom lacked land use certificates, complicating the determination of land origins. Additionally, disputes over compensation prices and inventory further delayed progress.
This new route will facilitate smoother traffic flow from Dong Tru bridge through several wards to the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway. The road is expected to open to traffic in time for the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
