The culinary feat took place during the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the 2026 Southern Folk Cake Festival in Can Tho, where the creation was officially recognized by the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings).
The record-breaking work was crafted using two signature traditional ingredients: fragrant glutinous rice and rich coconut. Under the skilled hands of 103 leading chefs from across the country, the shape of Vietnam emerged vividly on a massive scale.
What impressed visitors most was the meticulous craftsmanship. The piece incorporated 34 natural colors derived from vegetables and fruits, symbolizing the cultural diversity of Vietnam’s provinces and cities following administrative mergers.
The record-setting sticky rice map was organized by the Mekong Delta Chefs Association. It has been officially recognized as “The largest coconut sticky rice map of Vietnam” by VietKings.
