VietNamNet Bridge – At the historic site of Lam Kinh in Thanh Hoa Province, 18 ancient trees have been recognized as heritage trees of Vietnam. Many of the trees are from 300 to 600 years old.
Lam Kinh, about 50 kilometres west of the Thanh Hoa City, is famed as the homeland of national hero Le Loi, who led the Lam Son uprising to fight against the Chinese Ming invaders in the 15 th century.
He was crowned the first king of the late Le dynasty (1427-1789) with the title of Le Thai To in 1428.

Spread over an area of over 140 hectares, Lam Kinh relic site has precious trees, many of which are 600 years old. These trees contribute to the sacred beauty of the relic.
The Society for Conservation of Nature and Environment of Vietnam has recently recognized 18 ancient trees in Lam Kinh as Vietnam's heritage trees. Of these, 13 trees are located in Lam Kinh relic site, and five trees in the temple of Le Lai in Kien Tho commune, Ngoc Lac district. The most prominent tree among these is the 300-year-old banyan tree in the Lam Kinh relic site.

About 6 km west of Lam Kinh Relic is the Tep Temple in Kien Tho Commune, in Ngoc Lac district, the home to five heritage trees.
