As many as 65,000 vacancies and 30,000 seasonal jobs are forecast in Ho Chi Minh City in the fourth quarter of this year, according to the municipal Centre for Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labour Market Information (FALMI).




The vacancies are mostly in area of garment and textile, footwear, food processing, information technology, sale, social insurance and human resource management, revealed the centre.

Meanwhile, the seasonal jobs are mainly shop assistants, restaurant, hospitality and attendant service staff, which require general training qualification.

FALMI Vice Director Tran Anh Tuan said that the jobs in the fourth quarter of 2016 increase by 1.5 times compared to the previous quarter as businesses start recruiting for a number of long-term and seasonal positions to fulfil orders for the rest of the year and increase production to meet the consumers’ demand during the upcoming traditional New Year.

Specialists held that Ho Chi Minh City is experiencing stable growth. As of the end of the third quarter of 2016, the city has 23,000 newly-established enterprises, a year-on-year rise of 16.1 percent in quantity and 53.7 percent in registered capital.

At the same time, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of the city in 2016 is estimate to reach 8 percent, which has positive influences to the local labour market.
