The wedding anniversary of an elderly couple in Ho Chi Minh City was celebrated like a real wedding, complete with a bridal procession, ring exchange, champagne pouring, congratulatory speeches, and a festive banquet.
A viral moment
A video capturing the touching moment when the elderly couple exchanged rings on their 60th wedding anniversary garnered nearly 700,000 views and over 50,000 “likes” on TikTok.
As their children and grandchildren watched with joyful smiles, the couple, their hair silver with age, slipped wedding rings onto each other's fingers - a gesture symbolizing six decades of unwavering companionship. Moved by her husband's sweet affection, the wife beamed with happiness.
The video inspired a flood of emotional comments:
“Sixty years together is no small feat. Their children and grandchildren don’t need to look far for role models.”
“This is what people mean by ‘a hundred years of devotion’.”
“True love from our grandparents’ generation - simple but resilient. They’ve endured so much together to reach this peaceful chapter.”
A lifelong love

According to Minh Tuyen, the young woman who filmed and posted the viral clip, the couple in the video are her grandparents - Nguyen Van Danh (born 1932) and Vo Thi Kim (born 1944). They live with their family in Tan Son Nhi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Danh and Mrs. Kim have been married for 60 years. Their love story, which began when Mr. Danh was Mrs. Kim’s teacher, has become a cherished legend within the family.
On November 11, 1965, the couple officially tied the knot. Since then, they’ve always remembered and marked that special day. As they entered their golden years, the younger generations took it upon themselves to organize anniversary celebrations for the beloved elders.
A celebration to remember
In 2025, with Mr. Danh turning 93 and Mrs. Kim 81, the family decided to go all out for the milestone.
“We all agreed to organize a big celebration for their 60th wedding anniversary. Each of us took on a task - ordering food, setting up the tent, preparing outfits, arranging flowers, blowing balloons... After three days of preparation, everything was ready. My grandparents were amazed,” Tuyen shared.

The event featured a full wedding setup with a bridal procession, ring ceremony, speeches, and a feast.
One of the most emotional moments came when Mr. Danh drove a specially decorated vehicle from the gate to the party area to “pick up the bride.” After six decades, he once again experienced the joy and excitement of a wedding procession.
“My grandpa joked, ‘You kids are too extravagant!’ - but he smiled the entire time. Grandma was just as happy. She said she felt fulfilled to have spent her life beside her husband, raised their children, seen them settled, and now gathered again as one big family,” Tuyen recalled.
Love in the details
During the celebration, Mr. Danh shared something that brought many to tears. He revealed that over the years, he had written down everything about his wife - her habits, preferences, and medical history.
He had carefully documented every time she was sick, had a stroke, or suffered from leg paralysis. These notes helped him keep track of her health and update doctors or relatives whenever needed.
“Looking at the way my grandparents love each other, I feel incredibly moved and grateful. From them, I’ve learned what it means to truly care, to compromise, and to love deeply in marriage,” Tuyen said.

Mr. Danh and Mrs. Kim have six children (four sons and two daughters). Thanks to their devoted parenting, the siblings are close-knit and supportive of one another. Five of the children now live in homes built within the same compound. The sixth lives with her husband nearby. The elderly couple resides with their eldest son - Tuyen’s father.
They now have 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In their twilight years, surrounded by loving family, they feel content and at peace.
“Even though we’re all here to support them, my grandparents still care for each other so attentively. Every time Grandpa is hospitalized, Grandma insists on visiting him despite her own frailty. And when Grandma is unwell, Grandpa does the same,” Tuyen said.
“Every mealtime, Grandma reminds Grandpa to eat. Even though their routines differ, they look after each other in every small way.”
Growing up in the warmth of their love, Tuyen considers witnessing their enduring bond a rare and priceless gift.
