During these historic days of August, the train will roll out the red carpet and be decorated with Vietnam’s red flag with a yellow star, along with slogans evoking independence, unity and national pride. The aim is to create a distinctive cultural space where passengers do more than simply take a train journey: they can immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a nationwide celebration.

From the passenger reception area to the train carriages, the red of Vietnam’s national flag will provide the dominant visual theme. A red carpet will lead passengers aboard, creating a continuous visual journey that recalls the colors of the national flag and the vibrant atmosphere of Hanoi during the autumn of independence.

Throughout the train, red flags with yellow stars will be accompanied by images and messages celebrating love for the homeland, national unity and Vietnamese pride.

One of the highlights of the program is a series of slogans placed at carefully selected locations throughout the train, creating emotional stopping points as well as photo opportunities for passengers.

Designed to blend harmoniously with the distinctive architecture of each carriage, the messages are intended not only to add visual impact but also to inspire national pride, affection for the homeland and a deeper appreciation of Vietnam’s historical values.

This year’s National Day carries particular significance for Hanoi’s Five Gates Train – The Hanoi Train. The train was first introduced to the public in the autumn of 2025, when the country was celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

Inspired by the ancient Thang Long Imperial Citadel, its five passenger carriages are named O Cau Den, O Quan Chuong, O Cau Giay, O Cho Dua and O Dong Mac, after five of Hanoi’s historic gateways.

Each carriage offers a glimpse into the architecture, memories and everyday life of Hanoi, together creating a moving cultural space on the railway.

One year later, as Vietnam enters its 81st autumn of independence, the train is once again dressed in the colors of the nation.

While its regular journeys take passengers through layers of memories associated with Thang Long-Hanoi and the heritage-rich Kinh Bac region, this special journey seeks to connect those memories with pride in the nation’s history.
