Four toppers from a single classroom
Among the list of specialist high school entrance exam champions announced by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Class 9A5 of Cau Giay Secondary School stands out with four students earning top honours.
Dang Huyen Anh was named Hanoi’s top scorer in Literature with a total admission score of 43.75.
Dam Gia Linh became the city’s top scorer in English with a total admission score of 45.35.
Ngo Xuan Tung topped the Physics category with 47.25 points.
Do Nguyen Bao Ha was the highest scorer in Biology with 45.5 points.

Speaking with VietNamNet, Tran Thi Nga, homeroom teacher of Class 9A5, said she was overwhelmed with surprise and happiness.
“I never imagined that a class under my supervision would produce so many toppers. In my 26 years of teaching, this is the first time I have had a class with four toppers at the same time, and I doubt such a milestone will be repeated,” Nga said.
She described all four students as diligent, humble and highly committed to their studies.
“They are talented in their chosen subjects and always work hard, but none of them is arrogant. They often told me they would do their best not only for themselves but also for their class and school. That is why they worked hard across all subjects, not just those related to their specialist track. As a homeroom teacher, that is deeply moving,” she said.
According to Nga, all four students have been admitted to three specialist schools.

Huyen Anh earned places at Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education High School for Gifted Students, where she was also the top scorer in Literature, and the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities.
She previously won first prize at district-level academic competitions and second prize at the city-level Literature competition during the 2024-2025 school year.
“Huyen Anh may be petite, but she is incredibly caring. She has always been a source of encouragement and motivation for the whole class. Whenever I felt down, she was always there to offer support,” Nga said.

Gia Linh was admitted to Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, the Foreign Language Specialized School and Hanoi National University of Education High School for Gifted Students.
She previously won first prize at ward-level academic competitions and third prize at the city-level English competition during the 2025-2026 school year.
“Gia Linh is also very thoughtful and a perfectionist, especially before exams, yet she consistently achieves outstanding results. She is an excellent self-learner and often asked me for study materials. She once joked that all the documents I gave her could fill an entire sack,” Nga said.

Bao Ha and Xuan Tung were admitted to Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences and Hanoi National University of Education High School for Gifted Students.
Before this year's admissions season, Bao Ha won first prize at a ward-level academic competition and second prize at the city-level Biology competition during the 2025-2026 school year. Teachers describe her as quiet and reserved, but possessing remarkable determination and inner strength.
Xuan Tung previously won third prize in a ward-level Physics competition during the 2025-2026 school year.
“Although he is a boy, Xuan Tung is exceptionally gentle, meticulous and careful,” Nga said.
Average score of 26.52, with 39 of 42 students admitted to specialist schools

The class’s success extends far beyond its four toppers.
According to Nga, students in Class 9A5 achieved an average score of 26.52 in the 2026 Hanoi high school entrance examinations. So far, 39 of the class’s 42 students have gained admission to specialist schools, representing 92.86% of the class. Together, the students secured 99 specialist school admission offers.
“This year’s results have exceeded all expectations. What makes me happiest is that the students excel academically while remaining united, supportive and encouraging of one another throughout their studies,” Nga said.
Huyen Anh and Gia Linh have chosen to study Literature and English respectively at Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

Meanwhile, Xuan Tung and Bao Ha have decided to pursue Physics and Biology at Hanoi National University of Education High School for Gifted Students.
Speaking with VietNamNet, Luu Van Thong, principal of Cau Giay Secondary School, said this was the first time a single class had produced four specialist entrance exam toppers, including one double topper who ranked first in Literature both citywide and in the entrance examination of Hanoi National University of Education High School for Gifted Students.
“Every year, the school has students who achieve top results, but this is the first class with such a remarkable record. It is truly unprecedented,” Thong said.
