The Provincial Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue in Yen Bai reported on the evening of September 9th that floodwaters are continuing to rise, with the river's water level reaching 34.24 meters - well above the third-level warning threshold.

In the coming 6 to 12 hours, flood levels are expected to increase further, potentially reaching 34.3 meters.

The rapidly rising waters have caused significant flooding throughout the city, cutting off several neighborhoods and leaving many homes underwater.

As of today, several areas in Yen Bai City are experiencing critical flooding, with water levels surpassing previous records. The Red River has surged beyond its banks, inundating roads and threatening key infrastructure.

The Yen Bai Bridge, a vital transport route, has been closed to all traffic as floodwaters continue to rise, creating hazardous conditions for commuters.

In Hong Ha ward, the flooding has reached alarming heights, with many homes completely submerged up to their rooftops. Meanwhile, the Yen Bai provincial stadium has also been overtaken by floodwaters, leaving it completely underwater.

Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, a major thoroughfare, has been submerged since the evening of September 8th, making it impassable. Authorities have deployed emergency personnel to help residents evacuate, using rescue vehicles to transport people and their belongings to higher ground.

The situation remains critical as local emergency services work to provide assistance and prevent further damage in the face of the escalating flood crisis.
