During a return trip in July to the Lo Lung lake which was discovered in early May, explorers of Jungle Boss Trekking Tours accidentally found a strange lake near the entrance of Thung Cave, about 1 kilometer away from the ‘hanging’ lake.

The mouth of the lake is only about 10 meters wide, surrounded by a lot of mud and earth, with clear blue and tranquil water. Notably, the lake is nearly 18m in depth and has the water temperature of 16 degrees Celsius.

“We are surprised because the lake is extremely deep, deeper than the water level of the main river in Thung Cave. In addition, the lake also has a temperature of about 16 degrees Celsius, much colder than the other lakes in Thung Cave,” said Le Luu Dung, director of Jungle Boss, in an interview with znews.vn.

Dung assumed that the lake may connect to another underground cave system in Thung Cave and lead to a very large cavern at the bottom layer. However, he said this is only a preliminary hypothesis, and further explorations with more equipment are needed for additional investigation.

The travel firm plans to develop this site for tourism to provide visitors with an exciting experience, he said.
